Project Structure#

• Electron directory: Contains the React/TypeScript frontend
• API directory: Contains Python services including api_service.py, gpt_service.py, and main.py

Development Setup#

IDE Setup:

• VSCode with ESLint and Prettier extensions

Installation:

• Use npm install

Development:

• Run with npm run dev

Build Commands:

• Windows: npm run build
• macOS: npm run build
• Linux: npm run build

Golf#

Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit a ball into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible.

Key Facts#

• Modern golf originated in 15th century Scotland
• First written record: James II's banning of the game in 1457
• 18-hole round created at the Old Course at St Andrews in 1764
• Golf does not use a standardized playing area

Game Basics#

• Goal: Play as few strokes per round as possible
• Stroke play is the most commonly seen format at all levels
• Maximum of 14 clubs allowed per player

Governance#

• Rules jointly governed by The R&A and USGA
• Current rule book came into effect in January 2019
