We’re building a future where documented knowledge is always up to date and accurate, where no human has to write or maintain it (unless they want to). And, when you need to learn about a feature, find an answer, or troubleshoot an issue, you’ll always know where to look.

Today we took a step in that direction with the announcements of one-click documentation, @ mentions in chat, the general availability of the new fact based reasoning agent, improved PR search and better code change reasoning.

We’re also highlighting another of our favorite projects from the Dosu community: All Hands AI’s šŸ™Œ OpenHands.Ā

Read on for details!

One-Click Documentation#

Transform recent activity into documentation in a single-click

In our journey to ā€œyou build, Dosu documentsā€, we started with a documentation agent to allow users to bring documentation ideas to life with a fraction of the effort. Now, we're making it even easier to generate documentation in a single click via suggested documentation. Dosu analyzes recent activity in your connected data sources to suggest new documentation. This makes it easy to document new features, bug fixes, and release notes.Ā

You can check out suggested docs for your projects in the Dosu app today.Ā

@ Mentions#

Just mention the file, Dosu will give you a response in light of the specified context

Know what you are looking for and just need Dosu to do the work? Just like you can mention files in Cursor or Windsurf, you can now do the same in Dosu’s native chat. The ā€œ@ā€ mention feature already supports files, GitHub issues and discussions, and Slack threads with more coming soon.

Improved code change reasoning#

What’s the diff? Dosu’s working on that. We’re shipping improvements to Dosu’s ability to interpret the differences between previous and more recent versions in code and what they mean in context. You should notice an improvement in generated docs and responses involving change reasoning starting today.

Here are some example queries to try out

  • Did we change anything related to billing recently?
  • What did we ship last week?
  • My local dev is no longer working - did the command change?

New Dosu agent goes GA#

Positive Dosu response user feedback has more than doubled since rolling out the new agent

As we [alluded to/blog/dosus-new-fact-based-reasoning-agent-is-generally-available/) last week, we have made Dosu’s new fact based reasoning agent generally available, and the response has been incredible. Users find that this new version of the Dosu agent is significantly better at responding to and resolving issues on github. Here are a few examples:Ā

  • ā€œReally appreciate the quick and helpful response—your support made all the difference.ā€
  • Thats working! Good bot :)
  • good bot šŸ‘

Here’s a link to the article detailing the many of the other changes.

If you haven’t logged into Dosu to review its responses, now is the time. You can test out the new agent on the Review page today.

Dosu Community Spotlight - All Hands: Open Hands AI#

https://docs.all-hands.dev/usage/cloud/github-installation

All Hands are the makers of Open Hands AI, which is the leading open source AI coding agent. All Hands make it easy to bring coding agents into your workflow wherever you are. They have a brand new CLI, a clean UI, a robust GitHub integration, and more. You can even integrate All Hands as a coding tool for your agent.

All Hands and Dosu make a perfect pair. Make more by delegating coding to All Hands and documentation to Dosu šŸ™Œ.

We encourage you to check out All Hands if you haven’t already!

What’s Next#

We’re really starting to invest in our Discord community, and as a part of that I’ll be doing a monthly ā€œAsk Me Anythingā€ video call exclusively on Discord, starting this coming Tuesday June 24th. I’d love you to join and answer any questions about Dosu that you might have. We’re also doing weekly blasts on Discord, where you can catch up on the latest happenings in the community we’re growing, which you’re a part of!Ā

To build the ideal future where knowledge is always documented and up-to-date, we need your feedback! Are we building Dosu in a way that solves generating, maintaining, and sharing knowledge for you? What are we missing and what could we do better? If you’d like to chat, please schedule a call with us or hit us up on Discord. We’d love to hear from you.

Until next time!
