A Channel is where you interact with Dosu. Think of it as the "place" where Dosu is active and can help your team. A channel can be:
- A GitHub repository (where Dosu can comment on issues and pull requests)
- A Slack channel (where team members can ask questions)
- Other supported platforms
How Channels Work#
Every channel has its own configuration that determines how Dosu behaves in that specific location. You can configure Dosu to:
- Automatically label issues and pull requests
- Auto-reply to new issues with helpful information
- Generate draft responses for maintainer review
- And much more
When talking to Dosu in a channel, you can summon it by mentioning @Dosu. Dosu has access to all of the data sources you've connected to your organization, so it can provide informed responses based on your project's context.
