Create an Account
Head to app.dosu.dev and sign in with your GitHub account.
-
Install the GitHub or GitLab Integration
For GitHub, install the Dosu app from the Dosu GitHub App install page on the repositories you want to connect. This grants Dosu read access to those repositories. Dosu won't post any comments until you create a deployment.
For GitLab, connect your GitLab account from Settings > Data Sources to enable access to your projects.
-
Create a Data Source
Go to Settings > Data Sources and click Add New. Data sources provide the context Dosu uses to answer questions and generate documentation.
For code repositories, Dosu monitors changes and keeps its knowledge up to date as your codebase evolves.
-
Create a Deployment
A Deployment connects Dosu to a GitHub repository, GitLab project, or Slack workspace, enabling it to respond to questions and issues.
Go to Settings > Deployments > Create and select a repository, project, or Slack channel. From here, you can configure auto-labeling, reply modes, and preview settings.
-
Review Activity
Once you've created a deployment, visit the Review page to see Dosu's recent activity. You can approve, edit, or reject responses before they're posted.
